Builder: Nemrut Volcano Eyes
Francisco Rodriguez | Rafael Vargas
Nemrut Volcano contains breathtaking views that are inaccessible to the public. The aim of the project consisted of creating a narrative throughout the designed path, by extracting volcanic rocks, thus creating unique panoramic points. All the landmarks have their unique print of the building. As a result, each area gives the visitor glimpses of what will be encounter. At the end of the pathway, the visitant comes face to face with a monumental building named Tephra. Made from the volcanic rocks, it captures the fluid essence of a volcano. The entrance of the stone-shaped structure draws the visitor inside. Furthermore, the spectator receives diverse and specific views of the site through a spiral stair. At the culmination of the loop, Tephra opens itself towards the volcano. Thus, allowing the visitor to have the feeling of being inside one and providing one last scenic sight.
