Case File 001 is a residential bathroom renovation in Río Piedras, designed as a playful and highly personalized reflection of the client’s personality. The space draws inspiration from childhood memories and the nostalgia of visiting a grandmother’s home, reinterpreting familiar vernacular elements through a contemporary lens. Bold colors, personalized mosaic tiles patterns, grid systems, glass blocks, and layered textures create a space that feels both nostalgic and unexpected—playful yet refined. Among the more personal features is a dedicated perch for the client’s birds, allowing them to hang out nearby while he showers and making them part of the everyday experience of the space. Every element was carefully selected and customized for the client, with the intention of creating a space that not only feels personal today, but can also become a place of fond memories for the next generation.
