GODREAU is a school rehabilitation project located in Salinas, Puerto Rico. The multipurpose building contains a program of housing, hostel and cinema-theater that seeks to grant a space to the residents Salinas and visitors who have nowhere to stay in town, such as international and local tourist. The hostel is located in the rehabilitated school destined for the tourists, while the housing for locals is located in the back of the school, both linked by an horizontal pathway. Thus, connecting the old and the new buildings. A common space, a plaza, is created, delimited by the housing structure and the hostel that becomes the focal point of the projects. It is a wide, vegetated and apart space from the city that creates a pleasant atmosphere for both communities. This oasis offers the possibility to create a relationship between the resident and the visitor. In this way the visitor can have a look broader that allows creating intimate ties, not only with the town of Salinas, but with its inhabitants.
